Tommy Vandy is a development practitioner with 19 years experience in leading and delivering on development initiatives throughout Sierra Leone. Tommy was recruited as Director of Caritas Sierra Leone Kenema by the Bishop of Kenema in October 2019. Prior to this, Tommy served in various capacities with various International Non-Governmental Organisations across the Country. He served as the European Union Project Coordinator with Trocaire for one year, where he worked with six Civil Society Organisations in three districts across the Northern region of Sierra Leone. Tommy also worked with World Vision for ten years in various roles and in various areas within the Southern Region of Sierra Leone. His last assignment with World Vision was Child Protection, Gender and Advocacy Advisor. He also worked with Save the Children UK as Child Protection Programme Coordinator in Sierra Leone for one year, and National Programme Manager of GOAL in Sierra Leone for six years.

Tommy holds a bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the University of Sierra Leone and a Masters degree in Peace and Development Studies also from the University of Sierra Leone. He also holds certificates in various disciplines such as Project Development, Project Implementation and Management, and Strategic Planning and Development Studies, all from the University of Sierra Leone.
