Coat of Arms

Most Rev. Henry Arunas Coat of Arms is composed of three sections. The lower section is a descending dove representing the decent of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus after his baptism at river Jordan, providing Jesus the strength and guidance he needed for his ministry. The Holy Spirit also descended upon the Apostles on Pentecost day providing them similar strength and guidance.

Bishop Henry Aruna will continue to rely on the power and protection of Holy Spirit in his new ministry. The upper left section is the Holy Rosary. The Rosary is one of the devotions most loved by Catholic Christians. Its presence on his Coat of Arms signifies Bishop Arunas devotion to the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Mother of the Church. Most Rev. Aruna will always rely on the Virgin Mary for her continuous intercession as he shepherds the People of God in the Universal Church.

The upper right section is the Holy Bible. The word of God shall always be the source of inspiration for Bishop Henry Aruna in his Episcopal ministry. For his motto, Most Rev. Henry Aruna has adopted the phrase, In Deo Confido, meaning In God I Trust.

This phrase, which is a paraphrase form Psalm 91:2, sums up Bishop Arunas deep conviction that he is appointed by God for humble service in the church; he therefore relies on the same God in carrying out his Episcopal apostolate. The rest of the symbols are the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop, by instruction of The Holy See, March 31, 1969.
