ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL PARISH CELEBRATES ANNUAL PATRONAL FEAST DAY

In Kenema, on Sunday 30th June 2024, the St. Paul's Cathedral Parish celebrated their annual patronal Feast Day -Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.

The church and its parishioners adorned themselves in their vibrant parish colors, creating a festive and joyous atmosphere that reflected the unity and devotion of the congregation.

The Mass, concelebrated by the Bishop, Most Rev Dr. Henry Aruna and three (3) of his collaborators including the Vicar General and Administrator of the Cathedral was a truly joyous occasion.

The celebration centered around the Solemnity of the Feast of St. Peter and Paul, honoring the great apostles and highlighting the theme *"The respond of Peter towards God's mission."* This theme emphasized the profound significance of these two saints in the gospel and the church's history underscoring their unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel of Christ to all Nations.

The Mass also saw 35 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation, a tradition observed on every patronal Feast Day where the Bishop is Chief Celebrant.

The culmination of the Feast Day was marked by fundraising events, including a calendar rally represented by popular parishioners to ignite support and the launch of the Cathedraticum target through donations and pledges.

These activities not only fostered a sense of participation but also supported the ongoing mission and initiatives of the Parish as parishioners matched joyfully to support.

In a heartfelt gesture, the Bishop presented an Lawn mower machine to assist in the cleaning of the church compound, symbolizing his commitment to the upkeep and maintenance of the sacred space.

Additionally, the Media Chaplain, Rev. Fr. John Gibao Conteh, on the approval of the Bishop officially launched the Diocesan Media and Communications Team. He emphasized the Media Team's significance in reaching out to the Diocese and the essential services it provides and how parishioners can access these services.

The Vicar General and Administrator of the Cathedral Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Steven Tamba Cornelius Kumasi* expressed a poignant vote of thanks to all those involved in making the Feast Day a resounding success, expressing gratitude to the Bishop, parish organizations, and individuals who contributed to the event's success.

This gesture of appreciation highlighted the spirit of unity and collaboration that defined the Feast Day celebrations at St. Paul's Cathedral Parish in Kenema.
